V Line provides a travel option from Melbourne's Southern Cross Station to the Great Ocean Road including a tour on the Great Ocean Road stopping at Loch Ard Gorge, 12 Apostles, London Bridge and the Bay of Martyrs and onto Warrnambool.

There is a coach service from Warrnambool to Ararat (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) stopping at the Grampians National Park. Travellers arrive at Tim's Place (bus stop in front of hostel) at 11.15am.

The Christians Bus "Grampians Highlights Tour" departs from the hostel at 11.30 am. Bookings must be made in advance.

From the Grampians National Park there are between one and four services to Melbourne daily. There is also a service from the Grampians National park which departs daily for Adelaide. Travellers could just as easily depart from Melbourne Southern Cross Railway Station and travel to the Grampians National Park.

Every morning a train departs Southern Cross Station for Ararat at 8 - 10am arriving at Ararat at 10-35am. At Ararat travelers catch a bus to the Grampians National Park. On Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Christians Bus company operate a tour from Ararat through the Grampians National Park (Highliughts of the Grampians Tour). Departs Ararat at 10.45am. Bookings must be made in advance.

Every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday a V Line bus service operated by Christians Bus Company departs from the front of Tim's Place at 3.40pm to Warrnambool. This picturesque trip through the Grampians National Park and the Western District of Victoria takes just over 3 hours to arrive at Warrnambool.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday a V Line coach departs from Warrnambool at 8am for a tour along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay. The tour stops at the Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge, The 12 apostles and Loch Ard Gorge.

From Apollo Bay there are a number of daily services into Melbourne. There are also many beautiful seaside villages along the Great Ocean Road. Consider a stopover at the beautiful hostels listed below.

The cost of a Melbourne to Melbourne tour with V Line is $75.50. The cost of the Grampians Highlights Tour is $59 departing from Ararat or $49 departing from the Grampians National Park. Accommodation rates vary at the different hostels but a dormitory bed is between $25 and $30. BSK Adventures does a great half day kayaking and mountain bike tour in the Grampians National Park for $99 includes lunch and snacks.
